The program consists of a series of meetups that will take place at IRIA’s headquarters during October, November, and December. These events aim to introduce the latest technological innovations in virtual and augmented reality to the business community of Extremadura. The sessions will feature practical case studies presented by industry experts, along with technology demonstrations and networking activities.
The first session will focus on Industry 4.0 and will be held on October 31 from 12:00 to 14:00. During this event, Manuel Ángel Sánchez Ramírez from Lean Best Group will present applications of immersive technologies in industrial automation, simulations, and process optimization. The session will explore how these tools are transforming industrial environments, improving efficiency, and reducing costs through innovative solutions.
The next meetup will focus on the healthcare sector and will take place on November 21 at the same time. Alejandro Cristo García from HORUX Medical will provide a practical overview of how immersive technologies are impacting medical training, advanced therapies, and patient care. Real-world examples will be showcased, highlighting how virtual and augmented reality are enhancing both healthcare staff training and patient experience.
Finally, on December 5, a session will be held dedicated to the sectors of heritage, tourism, and digital culture. This event will present innovations in the use of immersive realities for the preservation and recreation of cultural heritage, as well as their application in tourism and the creation of new interactive experiences for visitors.
OPEN SPACE
IRIA’s activity program also includes an Open Space event on November 8. This collaborative space is designed to identify and discuss the main business challenges related to the application of immersive reality technologies across various sectors. Participants will be able to share experiences, explore innovative solutions collaboratively, and connect with experts in new technologies, with the goal of enhancing their use in their own projects and businesses.
All activities are free of charge but require prior registration through the form available on the FUNDECYT-PCTEX website. The activities developed at IRIA are co-financed by the FEDER Extremadura 2021–2027 Program and fully managed by FUNDECYT-PCTEX under the framework of the “Specific Transfer of the INCUBATOR NETWORK.”
The implementation of IRIA’s technological equipment, which opened its doors last September, involved an investment of 2 million euros, of which Red.es contributed 1.6 million and the Regional Government of Extremadura 400,000 euros, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Multi-Regional Operational Program of Spain
